EAG were appointed as specialist envelope subcontractor to provide a mixture of curtain wall, bespoke roof glazing, windows, doors, terracotta baguettes, brise soleil, rainscreen cladding and louvres as part of the £25 million conversion scheme. The Pavilion, a Grade II listed building dating from 1923, was originally constructed as a cinema, now converted into a four-star 322-room hotel with associated leisure and retail facilities. To integrate the new functions, the interior of the building was removed, along with sections of the rear elevation. Most of the primary façade elements were retained with modifications to bring natural light into the rooms behind. The building features a new glazed roof, which follows the curved profile of the original.
