Bolted Glazing
In addition to roofing and curtain walling projects, EAG undertake substantial commercial projects utilising the Spider Glass bolted structural glazing system from Saint-Gobain.
Single or double glazed solutions are available incorporating solar control and low emissivity glass as appropriate. The supporting structure can take many forms including:-
- laminated timber
- tubular steel
- tensioned cables
- laminated glass fins and beams
The 'Spider' fittings between structure and glass are stainless steel and are either cast or fabricated. Available finishes are:-
- Electro polish
- Mirror
- Glass bead blasted
The glazing bolt itself is also stainless steel, with cup and ball arrangement allowing rotation in the glass fitting. This rotation allows the glass panel to deflect under load without inducing stress into the glass itself around the bolt fixing. This system can be used to construct:-
- Facades
- Entrances
- Roofs
- Canopies
