EAG are proud to have been involved in one of the largest of all London’s Dockland Developments; the New Providence Wharf.
Covering some 8.2 acres the site holds huge historical significance being the point from which the Virginian Adventurers set sail for the New World four centuries ago. Now home to a luxury apartment development; the area has become one of the most sought after residential areas for the city’s elite.
EAG were awarded the £3million aluminium curtain walling contract by developer Ballymore Properties.
Polyester powder coated aluminium systems from Schuco International were used, along with FW50+ for curtain walling, RS50 windows and RS65 doors.
The scope included the leisure club and pool, ground and first floor apartments, “Premier” units on 3rd to 18th floors and luxurious penthouse apartments on levels 12 to 18.
Extensive use of glass by EAG in the Skidmore Owings Merrill design including high performance coatings to enhance thermal and environmental performance, allows panoramic views of the Thames and across Docklands, enhanced by the building’s unusual curved shape affording river views to most apartments.
Delivering the project design, manufacture and installation to programme; EAG were then entrusted with the curtain walling and windows on the next phase of the development. July 2004 saw the scheduled completion of EAG’s programme in harmony with the client. The development continues to prosper with the addition of a multi-storey Radisson Hotel and commercial centre.
