Riverside Heights residential development is part of the ongoing regeneration of the Norwich Riverside area. Parts of which were formally occupied by industrial, rail and food processing facilities. Located between the River Wensum and Norwich City’s Carrow Road football stadium, this high density, high quality housing scheme will provides the first 98 of what will be more than 300 apartments in five separate developments along the river bank.
EAG were appointed by Jackson Construction to manage the external envelope cladding on the first phase of this development. It consists of five linked buildings arranged around a landscaped raised courtyard in such a way that most apartments have a river view. Generous spaces between the buildings provide both views of the city skyline and pedestrian routes to the football club and its associated leisure activities.
The five buildings of Block A house 98 one, two and three bedroom apartments with large glazed areas giving good light levels within the courtyard elevations and pleasing views down the river for the south elevation.
The multi-material façades comprise large areas of glazing utilising the high performance systems of Schüco International, incorporating the latest energy saving glass and a mixture of terracotta tiles, lauro and andira timber and metal rainscreen. As part of the part L compliance, louvres & brise soliel provide solar shading to the exposed westerly and southerly aspects. All are designed to create a contemporary and visually exciting response to the textures and tones of the riverside environment.
Following the successful completion of phase one, EAG look forward to further involvement in the ongoing regeneration of Norwich Riverside.
