EAG selected high performance aluminium systems from Hueck for this prestigious
and complicated residential refurbishment project on the South bank of the
Thames.
The former head quarters building for British Steel was completely gutted
and refurbished to create luxury apartments with panoramic views over the
capital.
- The aluminium systems from Hueck comprised lift and slide high performance
door sets, Series 1.0 tilt/turn opening lights and Series VF50 curtain
walling.
- Copper rainscreen cladding was also installed to provide a vertical
feature to the facades.
- High levels of thermal and acoustic performance were provided by the
building envelope with an apartment to apartment rating of 55 Db. Acoustic
mullion sleeves and together with steel plates and cementatious boards
both vertically and horizontally ensured the specified performance was
achieved
- The aluminium profiles were finished in polyester powder coating both
internally and externally whilst glazing was provided in double glazed
unit form comprising 10mm green tinted toughened and heat soaked outer
leaf and 8.8 mm clear laminated inner pane with low emissivity coating.
