No economic downturn forecast for the Construction Industry

Simon GladwinThe UK construction industry has never been busier. That’s the claim put forward by one of the country’s leading curtain walling and cladding companies, English Architectural Glazing (EAG).

The firm has revealed that orders for commercial work are out stripping previous years and the employment is being created by the demand for specialist contractors.

Suffolk based EAG has seen its workforce grow considerably in recent months as orders are being placed with the firm. EAG has recently been engaged to work on a number of multi million pound landmark projects such as The London School of Economics, Queen Mary Innovation Centre, South Bank University and St. Bartholomew’s Hospital.

Managing Director, Simon Gladwin, said: “Every sector of the industry is reporting good order books for the coming year and this reflects the amount of regeneration and redevelopment taking place. It also shows that the UK is leading the way in professionalism and skills. We have one of the highest skilled workforces in the world and our quality and attention to detail means clients are choosing British firms to carry out their work.”

EAG is now predicting this growth to continue for at least the next five years and as a result is now looking to expand even further. The company currently directly employs more than 125 people split between its HQ in Mildenhall and throughout its contruction sites. The firm is now planning to increase its workforce in both EAG and its sister firm Multi Fab, also based at Mildenhall.
