English Architectural Glazing Ltd (EAG) has been awarded a £1.2m contract by main contractor Osborne to install all glazing and external cladding elements to the Roberts Building extension at University College London.
This includes the installation of curtain walling and windows, rainscreen cladding, Planar glazing, balustrades and terracotta baguettes as well as the application of louvres to the front south-facing side of the five-storey building to provide solar shading.
Once completed, the £7.5m extension to the front of the existing Roberts Building - which is home to the University’s engineering faculty - will provide additional offices, lecture and seminar areas and an exhibition space.
EAG is due to begin work on site at Torrington Place this summer and the extension is scheduled for completion in spring 2008.
