Top architectural glazing firm has started work on an extensive refurbishment project at Park Lane's prestigious InterContinental Hotel.
English Architectural Glazing, based in Mildenhall, Suffolk, has been contracted to replace all the hotel bedroom windows and has now secured a further tranche of work for the front of house public areas of the famous hotel including glazing one of its three restaurants.
This brings the total work secured to GBP2.4m for the company and is part of a much wider scheme to refurbish the entire building. The InterContinental is one of the capital's best known hotels boasting 451 guest rooms and 43 suites spanning eight floors.
This five star venue is situated in the heart of Mayfair just across the road from Hyde Park.
The surrounding area is mainly residential but is also home to some of London's grandest hotels, department stores, shops and art galleries.
Managing Director of EAG, Simon Gladwin, said: 'We were extremely pleased to be chosen to form part of the team that is renovating this world famous London hotel and feel our individual style of architectural glazing will fit perfectly with the building's overall taste and elegance'.

The hotel is undergoing a complete renovation and will reopen in June 2006.
