Project: SAS Radisson Hotel at Stansted

EAG Top Safety Award On Stansted Construction

 

English Architectural Glazing has been recognised as one of the best performing subcontractors on the new £30 million SAS Radisson Hotel at Stansted airport after scooping at top safety award.

The award was given to EAG by the sites main contractor Skanska Building UK Ltd and was presented to the Suffolk based firm in recognition of their excellent working practices on the project. The new hotel will have 500 beds and the EAG part of the scheme is worth £3 million. It involves curtain walling, aluminium rainscreen cladding, windows and entrance doors.

As the hotel bedroom wings are adjacent to the main runway the glazing involved comprises of two laminated glasses with acoustically enhanced interlayer.

There has been extensive off site testing at an acoustic lab to ensure the whole system meets with the project performance specification.

Managing Director of EAG, Simon Gladwin said: "I'm very proud of our workforce and the way their put best practice and safety first.

This award from Skanska Building UK Ltd reinforces our messages that EAG is one of the highest regarded companies when it comes to safety and I'd like to offer my congratulations to our staff who are working very hard on the new hotel at Stansted."

As well as receiving a trophy shield the workforce of EAG was also presented with a cash prize by Skanska Building UK Ltd to help with celebrations.
