At the core of EAG is a large group of highly skilled project managers and designers who between them have the resources to manage almost any size of project through from start to finish.
Offering expertise at the earliest stages and working closely with the architect and contractor to ensure the optimum solution.
The Glazing Design Team
Team members are qualified both academically and through extensive industry experience.
Best of breed industry standard design software is utilized alongside the powerful SolidWorks and BoCAD full 3D design modelling system developed specifically for EAG.
BoCad and more recently SolidWorks are highly developed software packages that allows designs to be developed in full 3D such that every component and every detail of the installation is modelled along with the host structure so ensuring a fully integrated design and of course the opportunity to solve the problems before work begins on site.
In addition the software automatically outputs:
- All preliminary materials lists
- Hardware schedules
- Glass size maps
- Fabrication drawings from the completed model
- Full custom visuals and walk through’s
All this thus ensures the design is timely, error free and precise.
Projects Team
The Project Teams at EAG consist of senior project managers with substantial expertise in both the glazing and construction industries.
They in turn are supported by dedicated project and site managers allowing EAG to manage not only its own supply but also the procurement, supply and installation of associated package items.
EAG have long recognized the importance of the project management function particularly for complex packages and have developed a system and department they are rightly proud of. On receipt of an order:
- A project manager is appointed to deliver the project to the required specification within the time and cost constraints laid down by the contract.
- The project manager prepares a detailed project plan relating all activities within the project, this document will be updated throughout the life of the project and used as a tool to control and monitor progress.
- The initial task of the project manager is the bringing together all
members of the design teams, both EAG’s and the client’s,
and controlling the design process to ensure timely completion, thus enabling
procurement and manufacture to take place within the programme requirements.
- Following completion of design the project manager will control and co-ordinate the manufacturing to ensure delivery of components to site as required by the installation programme.
When the package requires EAG to employ specialist subcontractors it is the project manager who controls and co-ordinate their activities ensuring they comply with specification and programme requirements. Specialists are used to provide items such as:
- Automatic doors
- Revolving doors
- Roller shutters
- Brise soleil
- Louvres
- Latchway systems
- Secondary steelwork and gantry / access systems
As part of his project control system and in conjunction with his site manager the project manager prepares:
- Method Statements
- Quality Plan
- Health & Safety Plan
- COSHH data sheets and the associated Risk Assessments
